A non-conformance identified at site delivery — visible damage, dimensional variance, incorrect batch — has a short response window. Most supply agreements specify 48 to 72 hours for written notice, dated photographs and hold on installation.
The commercial position at day 30 is set by what was recorded on day one. Notice held informally, photographs undated, product installed under objection — these compromise the ability to rectify without dispute.
The rectification sequence
Written notice with photographs and batch numbers is issued to the supplier and the manufacturer. Installation is held on the affected quantity while a rectification plan is agreed — replacement batch, credit, or acceptance against defined tolerance. Unaffected quantity may continue.
