A supply-only package places the product on site to a defined specification, batch, tolerance and delivery window. Installation is contracted separately, typically to the builder's preferred trade or a nominated subcontractor. The interface between the two contracts is where most disputes originate.
The specification should be identical across both contracts. Substrate preparation, moisture testing, acclimatisation period and installation tolerance sit in the installation contract but reference the same technical parameters as the supply contract. Divergent references produce divergent expectations at handover.
The delivery interface
Delivery basis, container release timing, site storage responsibility and handling equipment are documented in the supply contract. Receipt, verification, on-site protection and installation programme sit in the installation contract. Both contracts reference the same delivery schedule.
