A display suite is typically constructed 12 to 24 months ahead of tower completion. Drawing display suite quantities against the main supply order creates two problems: the main order is released earlier than optimal for production allocation, and the display suite draws against a batch that will not be available when the towers are called.
The procurement position is to treat the display suite as a distinct scope with a distinct order — same specification, separate release, separate batch identification. A control sample is held against the display suite batch for later cross-reference to tower stock.
Logistics
Display suite quantities are typically 30 to 80 square metres — below full-container efficient. Consolidation with other project material, or LCL freight, is priced against the small parcel size. The freight cost per square metre is higher than the main programme; it is accepted as part of the display suite budget line.
